This product is crafted from organic sesame grown in the unique ecological region at 37.5°N, carefully selected from over 8,000 varieties worldwide. Through a fusion of traditional baking techniques and innovative 5M processing, we employ a water extraction method to extract the oil. This approach not only enhances the richness of the oil’s aroma but also better preserves the abundant nutritional elements within the sesame. Our Lu Yu-branded oil is free from any food additives, green and healthy, a testament to our commitment to delivering natural and aromatic sesame oil products.
We source our ingredients from a GAP sesame planting base, where a rare variety was developed by us and a team of academicians over three years. The entire process, from planting to harvesting, strictly adheres to organic food standards and is fully mechanized. Every sesame seed is plump and uniformly colored. After harvesting, the sesame undergoes a fully automated baking production line for three rounds of sorting, stone removal, and washing, respectively. This process transforms raw sesame into roasted sesame. The entire production is intelligently computer-controlled, eliminating the inconsistency of conventional sesame roasting caused by manual temperature control. Under well-controlled temperature and time length, sesame is ground by the traditional stone grinding method at low temperatures and low speeds. Oil is produced through a closed negative pressure water extraction method after 36 layers of natural physical filtering and settling. Ultimately, the original aroma and nutritional elements of the sesame are preserved, exhibiting a clear and translucent oil color.

Sesame, known as the “King of Oilseeds”, is a crop from which the extracted oil is called sesame oil, or sometimes known as benne oil or gingelly oil. Featuring rich and fragrant aroma, it is suitable for both raw and cooked applications. Sesame stands out as one of China’s four major edible oil crops and is a primary oil crop in the country. The oil extracted from sesame seeds emits a delightful scent and can be used either for cooking or for medicinal purposes, such as serving as a high-quality massage oil, a base for ointments, a lubricant, and a detoxifier. Fragrance from sesame flowers and stems can be used in the production of perfumes, and the stems can be used as fuel. Oil from hot-pressed sesame can be used for producing carbon paper, and the smoke generated from burning sesame oil can be used to produce high-quality ink.
For industrial purposes, sesame can also be used to produce lubricating oil and soap. Sesame meal has a relatively high protein content and thus is an excellent feed ingredient. Containing about 5.9% ammonia nitrogen, around 3.3% phosphoric acid, and 1.5% potassium oxide, it is a valuable fertilizer as well. In recent years, China’s sesame production has significantly declined, dropping from the peaking 1.095 million tons in 2012 to 780,000 tons in 2017. Against this trend, the consumption of sesame and its products is on the rise along with the improving living standards and the growing awareness of health. As a result of the widening gap between supply and demand, sesame imports have been increasing annually at a rate exceeding 10%. In 2018, imports had reached 689,000 tons, and by 2022, they surged to 1 million tons.
