Shandong Shilixiang Sesame Products Co., Ltd. is a time-honored enterprise with a production history spanning over 120 years. Nowadays, as a national high-tech enterprise integrating sesame seed breeding, cultivation and promotion, production and sales, comprehensive utilization of sesame by-products, and educational experience, we have been recognized as a demonstration enterprise of the “China Quality Grain and Oil” program, a production base and processing enterprise for the “vegetable basket” in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and a specialized and sophisticated SME and a Gazelle Enterprise in Shandong Province.
Supported by our provincial engineering research center for functional sesame foods and provincial enterprise technology center, we have forged collaborative relationships with seven research institutions including the Oil Crops Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Shandong University, and Jiangnan University. In addition, our Sesame Industry Technology Research Institute founded together with these institutions, the first one in China, operates with the backing of five R&D centers specializing in variety cultivation and improvement, efficient production techniques, sesame processing, quality safety and standards, and brand strategy, respectively. Boasting over 60 national patent applications, we hold the independent intellectual property rights to six new sesame varieties such as “Lu Zhi No. 1” and “Lu Yu No. 1”. Globally, we have expanded our reach by exporting our products to 61 countries and regions including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, and Japan. Our Lu Yu-branded sesame oil and sesame paste have obtained a number of certificates and licenses such as organic product certificates certified by China, the United States, and the European Union, BRCGS Global Standards for Food Safety, KOSHER, and the US FDA. Our “Lu Yu” trademark had been recognized as a “China famous brand” in March 2019, and further in December 2020, our Lu Yu sesame oil was designated as “China Quality Grain and Oil” by the National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration.
